Privacy Policy

This service is operated by Nathan Oxier, sole proprietor, in Marysville, Ohio. It sells one thing: a written research brief on a question you choose. This page explains what information that involves, how it is used, and how long it is kept. Questions: researchbriefsbynathanoxier@gmail.com.

What is collected

• Your email address — collected at checkout so the finished brief and any follow-up can be sent to you.
• Your question and any context you submit — the research question you enter on the payment page, plus any links or background you add there or by reply.
• Your name — as entered at checkout, used only to address correspondence.
• Payment information — card details are entered on Stripe's checkout page and handled entirely by Stripe. This service never sees or stores your card number; it receives only a confirmation that payment succeeded, the amount, and your email.

The website itself sets no tracking or advertising cookies. Stripe's checkout pages set their own cookies, governed by Stripe's privacy policy.

How it is used

• To research your question and produce your brief.
• To email you the brief, handle a revision request, and issue a refund if one is owed.
• To produce the brief, your question and context are processed with AI tools (large language models and web-search services). Your question text is sent to those providers as part of doing the work. It is not used by this service to train any model, and reputable providers used here do not train on API content by default.

Your question and context are not sold, rented, published, or shared with anyone beyond the payment processor (Stripe) and the AI/search providers used to do the research.

How long it is kept

Your email, question, and context are kept only as long as needed to deliver your brief and honor the revision window — then routinely deleted, within about 90 days of delivery. Payment records are retained as long as required for tax and accounting. You can ask for your question and correspondence to be deleted sooner by emailing the address above; that request will be honored unless a completed transaction record must be kept for legal reasons.

Your choices

• Ask what is held about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted, at any time.
• Decline to provide context beyond your question — though a vague question makes for a weaker brief.
• Residents of California, the EU/UK, and other regions with data-protection laws have the rights those laws provide; email the address above to exercise them.

Security

Information is stored on access-controlled systems and transmitted over encrypted connections. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but the data held is deliberately minimal and short-lived.

Children

This service is for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date above is updated. Material changes affecting how existing customers' data is used will be emailed where an address is on file.
